Aung San of Burma

Guest Book

Aung San. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Liaqat Ali Khan. Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike. Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Mohammed Daoud. Hafizullah Amin. Indira Gandhi. Zia-ur-Rehman. Zia-ul-Haq. Rajiv Gandhi. Vijaya Kumaratunga. Ranasinghe Premadasa. Gamini Dissanayake. Najibullah. King Birendra and family. Lakshman Kadirgamar. Benazir Bhutto.

Staggering. All united in death. By assasssination or execution. All of them political hate crimes. Many of them from famous South Asian political dynasties, others not-so-well known names. But all lost to a phenomenon peculiar to the South Asian continent.

Excerpt from:

"From Aung San to Benazir Bhutto: South Asia's fallen leaders" by Amit Baruah, Hindustan Times, December 29, 2007

Congratulations to Webmaster of AungSan.com and indeed to all Myanmar people on this day of January 4, 2008, the 60th anniversary of Burma's independence from Great Britain for which Aung San fought his all life.

Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for doing this website while evil people try to forget our independent hero, blame him and his daughter, put his daughter in jail for doing politics and tried to kill her as well.

I am ashamed of my own burmese people who are ungrateful to General Aung San. What is going on in Burma where evil people live long and get power and rich with country's money which are supposed to use for the country and people?

I am currently creating a protrait sculpture of Bogyoke Aung San and am asking for help. I need some good photographic references...of great help would be left or right profile views of Aung San. I have also heard that there are videos of Aung San: 1. Addressing a croud in Burma and 2. Being interviewed (by the BBC?) Copies of videos where I can see his animation and personality would be of greatest importance for the sculpture. As you know, the junta is systematically removing Aung San from the history of Burma. It is extremely important that excellent images of Aung San remain in existence to celebrate and honor Burma's true hero. So please help me in this effort by sending or emailing to me any good pictures you have of Aung San. Any help or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

Our Bogyoke Aung San is disappearing in Burma. When we were young, we have at least articles in our textbooks about our Bogyoke Aung San. Now, even the small children does not know him when we ask who he is. This is a total failure in our System. We must keep our morale, and tell our generations to not to forget the past and make our beloved country a better place. Thank You

let's always take pride in what our bogyoke did during those difficult times of struggle against the brit. the current regime do not seem to like him much, which reflects in all things they have done since they too power. his role in the burmese struggle for independence was, as all know, monumental, but than shwe belittle him by systematically removing all things that are to do with bogyoke. that's a national shame.

I feel a serious heartache because of the insult of the military junta who has been trying to invert the glorious history of Gen. Aung San. They have annulled all the honuoring ceremonies and schedules that mark the life of our NATIONAL HERO who devoted his life only to our nation, BURMA. We need to restore all honouring schedules like those we did during my childhood, 1960's, that really made our hearts patriotic and sincere.

Dear webmaster, It is very great that you created the personal website for such a historical person, Bogyoke Aung San. I found most of the features in the sites are good enough. But if you don't mind, I want to advise you for something. This is just to put some related articles to bogyoke. As far as I know, there are many articles written by some authors, among them are his friends like Dagon Taryar, about Bogyoke. If you have time and have a wish to upload those articles, that would be a great pleasure for the visitors to see the articles in one place. And it is more enlightening to the youths to understand about the independance we gained from British and of course about the behaviours of the historical person, Bogyoke. Wishes to see the articles,

I have just returned from Burma. It is a crime that all press articles about Burma's independence after WWII and all celebrations of Independence Day do NOT mention Bogyoke Aung San. All credit is given to Tatmadaw. There is a move on to erase Aung San from Burma's history. There will soon be a generation of Burmese who know nothing of its greatest hero.

Moreover, you never look forward to any facilities for you as well as your family. Though I wasn't born in your era, I look up you!! Especially your efforts for our country. As your speech, you practise what you preast. I keep my promise you that I will follow what you guided to us. Your speeches are still reflecting on today's Burma(Myanmar)event. Your speeches are fair & square. Currently, our country is heading to torn & bad direction. Enimies are loittering around us. Don't the current so-called responsible persons notice? What are they doing? Are they satisfied with public's taxes? I will frankly say that we, our citizens regardless of races, must be consilidated in order to reach "The peaceful & mordern country". Should we critize on each others? Instead of critizing, we should unite from now onwards.

So long as injustice and oppression and exploitation of man by man and nation by nation continue the world must come time and again to fall into the grips of Nemesis." ISN'T 15 YEARS ENOUGH FOR AN INTERIM GOVERNMENT ? When these military dogs, then led by Saw Maung, ruthlessly took over our country back in 1988, they reiterated over and over again that they are only acting as an interim government. So please military dogs, sirs, please tell us how long should an interim(short term) government rule ? Because as far as I can remember, the military(tat-ma-daw) never got my vote to rule my country and the tat-ma-daw also never got the votes from 80% of the population to rule Burma. My question is, aren't you at least one bit shameful that the whole world is calling you dispicable and now, even your own Buddies (ASEAN) are starting to show signs of abhorrance. Japan has cut off aid, and even china seems annoyed. So Military dogs, sirs, in this age of information, news spread quickly and one can't stay isolated. Ne Win was able to survive for 26 years mainly because of the lack of technology in media to spread information.

The creator of this site deserves all the credits. I grew up proud of all Bogyoke did that freed us all from the imperialistic grip of the Brit who I personally hold partly responsible for the exisiting political and economic problems. I just feel sorry for the loss of such a great leader whose life was cut short by the cunning nature of the Brit that cleverly us U Saw who committed the worst crime of all time in the sad history of Burma. Adios! victor ambrose

Gen. Aung San is a true Hero for the country. Current generals are stealing and robbing the country's resources to keep them rich. We can prove it if we have enough freedom of medea and fair trial. Anyone who can deny this, I will give you my Head!

Till the Death, I will admire him.

In reply to Ko Kyaw Moe's comment on General Aung San General Aung San was not just an enthuistic hero. He deserve to be one of the most admirable national hero through out the history. Even British and Japanese generals of those time admire him. Its not that he's not flexible enough, he just loved our country so much and could not trade anything else with the country's benefit. He's just being HONEST. As a Burmese you should know that. The reason he was assassinated was because of the jealously of U Saw. Not even, all British politician at that time want him dead. He had long term vision and scope for the country so that he even planned for the political system. Socialism that he chose was being manipulated and misused by U Ne Win. Socialist parties are still winning in UK and France. If General Aung San was still alive, he will be flexible enough to cope with the current situations of the world and let our country addapt well with the rest of the world.

Dear All, The HIV and AIDS issue in Myanmar has become uncontrolable. It's become worse in the past few years. The hygenic conditions of rural areas are terribly bad. No disposable syringe, no gloves and no systematic sterilizations in most hospitals in Myanmar. Most doctors and nurses in those areas are infected with HIV. We cannot deny the fact that the issue is out breaking. What I am doing is not criticizing anyone, obviously, everyone knows whose fault is this, just trying to point out the fact that we need help, more help than we ever achieved. So please help our country in fighting the desease more effectively. Thank you.

The web is great. Bogyok Aung San was the one and only general who really sacrificed his life and devoted everything for our country in 20th century even power was in his hand. Nowadays, some people are recklessly trying to hide his image as National Hero from public especially new generations. Teens these days don't know and have no respect for General Aung San as they should. This is the tragedy and should be stopped immediately. But no one can do it right now, effectively. This web page still need to be known widely between overseas Myanmar as well as people in the country. It was a coincident that i found this web page.

I am a woman (62 years old) from Germany, living in the UK. I have been following TRUE NEWS about BELOVED BURMA since I got my computer in April 2002. I have read all of DASSK's books in 1998 after my DEAREST FRIEND, a Burmese passed away on 27th January of that year. What I have read in the news has made me very sad and angry. But I am glad that the TRUTH can never be hidden!!!!!And I pray with all my Soul and all my Being: BELOVED BURMA WILL BE FREE!!!!!! I am going to Bangkok at the end of this year and I will make a special excursion to see for myself the BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN BELOVED BURMA! Yes, it is a great website. Without Bogyoke Aung San Burmese People would be poorer than they are now. But my LOVE is with Burma and Her People and I am looking forward to going there! Yours truly, Francesca.

A couple of years ago I heard that in Burma Bogyoke Aung San photos are being removed. I worried so much as I love him more than my own father. There are the work of two men I believe unique. Lord Buddha and General Aung San. We can be proud of them whenever we mention their words to foreigners. I thought that something must be done to keep Bogyoke at his place, an unrival National Hero. Today unexpectedly I found this website and needless to say how I feel. The preparation in style, fashion, colour is just perfect and Burmese way.Classic, intelligent and well adjusted. I have a book about Bogyoke's writings. Amazingly he touched the Education subject. His view on educating is wonderful and buddhist. I can send the photo copies of that article if this web site owners need to put on the site.

We Americans have just celebrated our Memorial Day on which we hornor those Americans who have died in the service of our country...people who have paid the ultimate price for freedom and democracy. During this weekend I also remembered Bogyoke Aung San and the sacrifice he made for the independence, freedom and democracy of Burma. His dreams remain unrealized but hopefully will come to fruition through the courage and dedication of his daughter Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. I have been so inspired by the efforts and Daw Suu Kyi that I created a sculptured bust of her, copies of which are with her family in England and at the NCGUB headquarters in Washington D.C. I have decided I would like to also complete a sculpture of Bogyoke Aung San but am having difficulty finding adequate reference materials from which to work. If any of you have pictures or can recommend where I might find some, I would be grateful. I look forward to the day when we can all celebrate a Memorial Day on the street

It would be truly appreciative and in the benefit of everyone if you(AungSan.com) can somehow find in some historical textbooks, the speeches Aung San made in his early Rangoon University days between 1935 to 1939 and publish them on the website. We know Aung San didn't have the best of oratorical skills back then as a University student. So it would be a good model to use to motivate people on how they can improve themselves, why its never too late to improve themselves and tell them there is no reason why anyone can't be what Aung San once was.

May 2, 2002 18:37:14 (GMT Time)

Thet H. Myint

The more I think of how that dim-witted Ne Win hampered the progress of our nation for 26 years with his egocentric superstitions, the more I realize the importance of being openminded. Aung San was exactly that and much more. The inception of this website comes at a crucial time when our Burmese school history textbooks are being rewritten and Aung San is being omitted more and more. But no matter what they do, be it omitting Aung San from our text books, scrapping the martyr's day celebrations or banning the literature on Aung San across the country, in the hearts of all Burmese, the old and the young alike, Aung San will always live on. Thank you AungSan.com. You have done an exceptional job for the development and prosperity of our Burmese society.

Had I one wish in life, I would go back to the day of Aung San's assasination and give my life in his place. I guess Burma was a country never to be without Aung San. One thing is for certain though. If Aung San lived today, he would take Ne Win's stupid no.(9), Ne Win's stupid astrology and shove them up Ne Win's ( Expletive deleted, well u know where)

Even though I was not born there and I did not know about Burma, I still want to have Burma to be more free-dom and liberal. So help our country to have Democracy and free-dom. In order to do so we must get together as a Union and kicked those stupidest govn't out from our country. Let's help our country. Let's get the Democracy for our lovely country.

This is really great place for both Burmese and non-Burmese (who are interested in Burma). I really appreciate you for puttin up Bogyoke's rare speeches and photos. It would be great if we all could hear Bogyoke's own voice in your site (if the web master doesn't have it, does anybody out there have it?). All the best wishes to our beloved country.

It's a great pleasure to me to see the historical profle of our national leader and founding father of Burmese independence on website, however the state runs MPTC's website - myanmar.com brings the only profile of myanmar junta ,and it favours the authorities' marathon speeches and daily tours around the country. It would be much more convenient for the people who would like to listen to Bogyoke's heartwarming speeches if you could add all of his speeches as audio files. Thanks a lot.

Its was very impressed to our nationality as Myanmar. You guys did a great job, and keep improve of it. Need more information about his life-style, his committment to people, his goals to country, and more...... I am very proud of myseself to be Myanmar. Eventhough our goverment is not as good as others, I am still waiting for the time to come, anyway lets learn from oversea experiences and do apply in Myanmar when the time is come. See you when I'm seen you, Soe Minn

THARR NGE

i do love ur website from the bottom of my heart. physically BO GYOKE might be dead, but there are a lot of heroes still appearing to have a real freedom in MYANMAR although being oppressed by military junta. if the leader is good, we will lift them on our shoulders. if not, we will fight against them until our last breath just like DAW AUNG SAN SUU KYI,who still sacrifices her life for burmese people. PS we are still prisoners in our own country..
